Meet Leslie Hines — a Navy Veteran, proud North Carolina A&T State University Alum, and Passionate Greensboro Mom whose heart for community and service gave life to a movement that’s been spreading smiles ever since: Coolin’ Out Ice Cream.

In the Spring of 2021, in a world still healing and socially distanced, Leslie heard a call to serve. She remembered the pure joy of childhood summers, the sound of an ice cream truck, the laughter of neighborhood kids, the shared joy of something sweet on a sunny day. It was this nostalgic love that inspired her to bring those moments back to life when the world needed it most.

That’s when Pinky was born, the very first ice cream truck, full of flavor, soul, and purpose.
What started as a bold leap of faith quickly turned into a community movement. Today, Coolin’ Out Ice Cream proudly rolls through the streets with three beloved trucks: Pinky, Shorty, and Starz. Each one bringing joy, connection, and a reminder that we are all deserving of simple happiness.
Through the business, Leslie is not only serving up delicious treats, but also restoring connection, uplifting neighborhoods, and creating opportunities for joy. With each stop, she’s proving that service doesn’t end with the military, it transforms and continues with heart, creativity, and community.

Hi, I'm Tanyetta Thompson, founder of Garnette Business Solutions, and nothing brings me more joy than helping passionate entrepreneurs bring their vision to life. One of those amazing businesses is Coolin Out Ice Cream — a mobile ice cream truck that’s all about spreading smiles and sweetness in the community.
As a kid, I lived for the sound of the ice cream truck rolling through our neighborhood. That excitement, that pure joy — it stuck with me. So, when I had the chance to support Leslie and her team with my business expertise, it felt like everything came full circle.
Working with Coolin Out Ice Cream isn't just a project — it’s personal. I’m proud to bring my business knowledge to help them grow and thrive, while they bring the magic of childhood (and amazing treats!) to neighborhoods all around.

Hey everyone! I’m Benji and I’m so excited to help serve the community with Pinky. I’m from Greensboro, NC and currently attend UNCG, but it’s always Aggie Pride! One of my favorite memories as a kid was running to the ice cream truck and begging my mother for a push pop. I can’t wait to bring memories like that to other kids across NC and more!

I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Coolin Out Ice Cream Truck team as a Virtual Assistant and Graphic Designer. It's an opportunity that resonates deeply with my childhood memories and brings me immense joy.
As a child in Nigeria, I vividly remember the excitement that would wash over me when I heard the familiar jingle of the neighborhood ice cream man bicycle approaching, with its colorful treats and cheerful tunes. Those moments of pure happiness have left a lasting impression on me, and it's wonderful to see my own kids experiencing the same joy on "ice cream" days.
Now, being able to contribute to the joy and nostalgia that ice cream brings to people is incredibly meaningful to me. Whether it's designing eye-catching graphics or assisting the team admin virtually, I am dedicated to enhancing the Pinky Experience. I truly appreciate and love being a part of this team, making memories, and sharing smiles and love with our customers every day.

Coolin' Out Ice Cream LLC Presents Pinky the Ice Cream Truck and NOW we are ALSO offering PINKY's Vending and MORE!
Spring of 2021, Navy Veteran, Aggie Alum and Greensboro Mom Leslie Hines decided to go out on a Call to Service and created a brand to bring back the Nostalgic Love and Joy that she remembered and missed from her youth. With the world still socially distancing and community morale being at an all time low this was the perfect time to SERVE! and then PINKY was BORN.

Keeping Us Cool, Slanging Treats & Giving Out Free Smiles With LOVE!

How? Well, we have made HUNDREDS of kids giggle(check out our Community Page) from doing "Make em Smile" campaigns, where the community chipped in and supported the less fortunate allowing Pinky to Pull Up and Show Out Slanging Smiles and Treats! We've also shared smiles with our Community FireFighters and Police! Serving at School Functions, Churchs, Rallies, Parties and so much more!
